Letitia Wright stars in Theatre Play "The Convert" written by Danai Gurira

The Convert is a stage play created by Black Panther star and Tony-nominated playwright Danai Gurira. The play is set in Zimbabwe in the year 1896 the story chronicles the life of a young woman fleeing a forced marriage she is taken in by a devout Catholic priest. Danai Gurira tackles colonialism and religion weaving a compelling narrative around an intriguing female character portrayed by Letitia Wright.

“if faith has a cost and if so, when is that cost too much?”

The production features a stellar star studded cast Letitia Wright (Black Panther), Paapa Essiedu (RSC Hamlet) and Ivanno Jeremiah (Humans). Director Ola Ince is tasked with bringing Danai Gurira beautifully crafted words to life. Plays runs from 7th of December to 26th of January hosted at the Young Vic theatre.
